STOP PRESS : Our Dynamic Recent Meetings

On 23rd March we had the Final Briefing for the Beach2Beach Fun Run expecting it to be only 4 days away (later postponed to August because of Weather and safety concerns). We were then excited to Induct 2 new Rotarians to our Club – Rebecca Monk and Cr Sue Heins who were warmly welcomed.

On 9th February Brett Thomas enlightened us about his initiative “Make Bullying History Initiative educate teenagers about bullying and Youth Suicide prevention.

Our 24 November Meeting educated new and older Rotarians about the incredible leverage that Rotary can use to achieve dramatic changes in our world at home and abroad. We were reminded that our many avenues of service, Vocational genesis and amazing fellowship enable us all to make a difference.

On 10th November Kain Session and Team from Indonesian Aid showcased the success of Water for Waves program which provides fresh filtered water and saves lives.

It was great to be back at Manly Leagues Club face to face on 27th October and to hear from Ben Said, an inspiring 19 year old blind athlete. Ben humbled us with his ability to overcome many challenges and to excel in his sports and shared his pride in representing Australia on the world stage.

On 13th October we heard from 3 Australian War veterans about their ongoing depression and suffering and the amazing Surfing Therapy Program that is offering them new hope. The sponsor cost is $1500 for a 10 week session.

We had a bumper attendance on 23rd September including new Men and Women keen to join our Club who heard in real time Zoom reports from Bali and Melbourne updating us about the life changing water filter program and earthquake recovery we have been supporting for the past 3 years. We also learnt about the challenges of rescuing local women trapped into prostitution. We were greatly enthused to redouble our support which is having an amazing effect among such appreciative victims of natural disasters.

Whilst the name will change the route, structure and fun of the event will not change with Starts at the same 3 locations:

1. 13km from Dee Why Beach,

2. 6km from Walsh St Warriewood  and

3. 3km from Mona Vale Beach.

All 3 will finish at Newport Beach with a great Finish Festival.

Our Rotarians Enjoy Fun and Fellowship while Supporting our Community

Community Minded People Like You and Me

We are a group of people local to Brookvale who regularly meet for fellowship, a lunch or dinner and networking.

Brookvale Rotary Club is a great way to meet fellow professionals and make new friends. If you like talking and sharing about issues that matter in both your local community and communities abroad, come and see how you can join the conversation at Rotary and do something to make a real difference in the lives of others. Our Club always welcomes Visitors and prospective members.

In August each year The Rotary Club of Brookvale runs their major project, the annual  Charity Fun Run and Festival. This year’s inaugural Beach2Beach event (for 27 years known as the Pub2Pub) is a great community building exercise that connects our club to many people and great causes, raising in excess of $100,000 every year for local charities.
